The purpose of creating new inventions was to make the life of humans easier. To manipulate objects into following our desires; big or small.

But at what cost? If by satisfying our wants through new breakthroughs in the world of technology, we will end up being dependent on it, wouldn’t it have been better for them not to be created from the beginning? Had they never existed, humankind wouldn’t be in need of them.

My mind instantly comes up with a quote originating from Mr Clemens: Civilization is a limitless multiplication of unnecessary necessities

By developing new technologies, are we really forming things into suiting our wants, or are we letting them form new needs for us?

Mungkin beberapa penemuan tadinya hanya dimaksudkan untuk tujuan X, kemudian tanpa disadari seiring dengan perkembangannya justru bisa dimanfaatkan untuk tujuan Y. Jadi mungkin tercipta kondisi seperti itu…

i think it would be better without, it’s unnecessary and men have lived without them from as long as history could remember. new technologies were created according to our wants for us to be dependent on because they make it more efficient, and yes anything new creates a new need as everything in life is dependent regardless of whatever it is. oh and its not useless, or would you rather be ignorant?

Halah, justru kalau menggunakan perbandingan dengan koefisien X dan Y saya jadi nggak ngerti… Hemm, tapi sepertinya hal itu bisa terjadi. Cuma yang saya maksud itu justru dengan membuat sesuatu untuk memenuhi kebutuhan malah justru menambah ketergantungan. Padahal sebelumnya masalah itu tidak diatasi juga kita masih bisa hidup, dan tidak ada ketergantungan apa-apa.

Exactly. (I hate the fact that since I knew of its existence, I have become dependent on the internet! Damn!) And yet… men still can’t help but to come up with new breakthroughs?
